Help Holly get out of Asheville

Hello friends and family,
As many of you know, my mom moved to Asheville, NC over a year ago and western NC was severely damaged by hurricane Helene. While thankfully my mom and her rental home are physically okay, we need to get her out of Asheville.
Western NC has been without electricity and water since Friday and they have not received word on an ETA when power will be restored. She has been staying at a friend's house nearby during the day that has a generator and then has been going home to sleep at night. They are rationing water and food as not many supplies have been able to get to their area. All but one of her neighbors has left and her friend with the generator is leaving in the coming days. From the sounds of it, everyone in the area is packing up and leaving. The roads are still closed, but people are still using them to try to leave. I hear it's chaotic on the roads and no one can get any gas. She has a full tank of gas, but I advised her to stay put as her getting stranded somewhere with limited cell service would be a worse case scenario.
I hate the thought of my mom being alone in a dark house by herself with not even neighbors around for the foreseeable future, so I'm trying to get her on a flight to KC later this week. We plan to purchase a one-way ticket and then reassess the situation sometime next week on next steps. Unfortunately, a one-way ticket to KC is $450 and who knows what the flights will look like for her to get home, so your generous donations will go towards her airfare.
My mom is an incredibly brave and strong woman who would never ask for financial help, so I'm asking for her. I want to avoid her having to come up with funds or going into credit card debt during these uncertain times and want to do what I can to help. She will be staying with Matt and I in KC as long as she needs and I will continue to share updates here. If you aren't able to donate, I simply ask you to please keep her and all Western NC in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you in advance for all those who donate and those who have reached out to check on her and offered to help <3
