Help Holocaust Survivors Living in Poverty
Tax deductible
Our community has a problem.
There are more than 500 Holocaust Survivors living in San Diego and over a third of them live in poverty and struggle to make ends meet. Every month these survivors of one of humanity's greatest atrocities are forced to make impossible decisions of whether to purchase prescription medication OR pay rent OR buy food for the coming week. Several of these survivors are living in conditions that would be unacceptable for our own grandparents.
These heroes of resiliency and perseverance deserve to live with dignity and comfort. It is up to us to make sure that it happens.
The Jewish Federation of San Diego County is leading the charge in this import effort by establishing the San Diego Holocaust Survivor Coalition. Our goal is to activate individuals and organizations to be a part of a collective effort to support our Survivors. We are asking for volunteers, in-kind donations, pro bono services and much more. However, in order to get started, we need financial resources.
We need your help to change the OR to an AND so no Holocaust Survivor will ever have to choose between vital services again. Every dollar makes a difference.
All donors to this campaign will be invited to a special gathering with one of the last remaining survivors of the atrocities of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
