Help HOME Project repair RV vandalism
Amidst the challenges already faced by the covid-19 pandemic, unfortunately the Hawai’i HOME Project RV was targeted by vandals once again. This time they spray painted graffiti alongside the whole right side and back of the van as well as damaged the tail lights. Earlier this year the RV window was broken and items stolen and another time the catalytic converter was removed from the vehicle. To find the RV once again vandalized is devastating and disappointing. We are trying so hard to help the community and for individuals to commit this senseless act is inexcusable.
The HOME Project provides free medical and social services to individuals experiencing houseless across the island of Oahu and is an integral part of the medical curriculum at the UH John A. Burns School of Medicine.
UPDATE: After an outpouring of your generous donations and beautiful words of encouragement we are overwhelmed with gratitude. We continue to receive donations beyond what was needed to clear the graffiti so we have increased our fundraising goal. With additional funds we plan to wrap the RV, which will protect it from future graffiti vandalism. We are also working to expand our fleet to allow us to expand our reach so we can use additional funds toward these efforts. Thank you again for helping us to help the community.
