Help a homeless dog 'n their human companion

Donation protected
My name is Amy Weisenburger and I am the Founder of ARCnests animal welfare nonprofit corporation.

ARCnests was given the opportunity to help
an individual with a dog who was experiencing homelessness while battling stage four cancer and living in a broken tent.

The man was turned down for temporary housing and could not go to a shelter without surrendering his best friend and animal companion of many years.

ARCnests worked in harmony with Catholic Charities Regional Agency of Youngstown Ohio County Ohio to secure medical support, food, and shelter for several weeks. We provided transportation to the hospital and medical appointments and facilitated obtainment of government support to ensure that this man and his animal companion could recover in a safe environment with heat, a soft bed, and a place to collect themselves.

Sadly this scenario is not rare. There are too many individuals experiencing homelessness who are faced with the impossible situation of having to choose between a warm and safe place to sleep, or their best friend and animal companion.

Yet many humans experiencing homelessness would not even consider abandoning their animal companion. They instead continue to choose the harsh cold streets with nothing but each other. And they do this day after day, week after week, and for some, year after year.

It is this incredible, undeniable, and unbreakable bond between humans and dogs that ARCnests continues to support.

Our Project: The Dog Bond provides immediate short-term needs and shelter that allows for dogs and their human companions to stay together while preparing for longer term care and housing.

The short-term needs include a custom mix of food, nutritional support, transportation, assistance with paperwork for government programs and housing.

We help to facilitate:
  • Local dog registration
  • Dog tags
  • Coordinating veterinary care in partnership with local animal rescue organizations
  • Obtaining ESA legal compliance

And lastly, we provide compassion, emotional support, and understanding.

We hope that you'll consider changing a life.
Give the gift of hope, compassion, and a warm place to call home, even if it is just for one night.

We all need and deserve love.

This fundraiser is specific to our flagship project: The Dog Bond.

Important to note: We do not yet have our 501c3 status. Additional information can be found here: ARCnests.

Much gratitude,

Amy Weisenburger
