Retired London Chief of Police, Elijah Dennis Hollon, was born April 19, 1947, in Brethitt County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Eliga Hollon and Florence Nell Cardwell Hollon. He was united in marriage to Linda Lunsford Hollon, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Damron, and husband Jason of London, Kentucky; stepson, Thomas Combs, and wife Jada of Sylacauga, Alabama; sister-in-law, Edna Hollon of London; six grandchildren; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by his four siblings: Gene Hollon, Charles Hollon, Jack Edward Hollon, and Jerry Hollon.
He served in law enforcement for 34 years and served as the London City Police Chief for 17 years. He was of the Christian faith.
Elijah Dennis Hollon departed this life Tuesday, October 29, 2024, being 77 years, 6 months, and 10 days of age.
The funeral service for Elijah Dennis Hollon will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Kentucky.
The family of Elijah Dennis Hollon will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour of 12 Noon.
