Help Honor Brian Fokes' Legacy

The Junction Kitchen family is devastated by the loss of the heart and soul of our kitchen, Brian Fokes. He was a shining light everyday - we all looked forward to his golden smile and bear hugs. He kept everyone positive even on tough days. Brian worked very hard to break out of a mold and pushed everyday to learn more about himself and the world around him. He worked diligently to raise every one up around him and found a niche in a mentorship roles with our younger staff. Brian took pride in changing stereotypes and trying to help others be more self aware and community driven. He broke the stereotype for himself and pushed far beyond expectations when many others have fallen into a failed institutionalized system.

Brian was taken from life far too soon when an altercation escalated to Gun Violence. Tragic, especially since this was exactly what he fought so hard against. He leaves behind 4 children- Arkendal, Brian Jr., Kardesian and Onyckle. We are raising funds to leave an education fund for Brian's youngest kids and help with some funeral costs. Those of us who were so lucky to have experienced Brian's joy, love and kindness will forever be better for knowing him - thus leaving his mark on his community.
