Hi my name is Jennifer Rodriguez i am Susanna Smith cousin. I will be giving all the money from this donation to Susanna to help with everything i will not be taking anything. But as many of you are aware, we experienced a profound loss on December 28, 2024. Covy endured numerous challenges in his journey to recovery, and his untimely passing was an unexpected turn of events. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude for all the love and support already shown. In lieu of flowers for his service, the family would appreciate donations in order to help them honor Covy’s finally wishes.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Covy Michael Smith on December 28, 2024. He was the beloved son of Kathleen Boyd and Corbett Smith, born on February 18, 1983, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
After high school graduation, Covy’s love of big rigs and heavy equipment pushed him to pursue a career where he spent 18 years as an over the road truck driver. He had a passion for classic country music and enjoyed learning how to play his favorite songs on his guitar and banjo. Many days you could also find Covy in a garage working on anything that had an engine but his real passion was working on cars.
In December 2019 Covy began a new chapter of life where he became known as the “Miracle Man.” He spent the next 5 years working hard and dedicated every day to his recovery after his accident. Covy began his new role of working on small engines and enjoyed showing others his skills and that his injuries he sustained were not going to get in the way of doing what he loved the most.
Covy leaves behind his three adoring children, Dylan Lewis, Zoe Smith, and Joseph Smith. His mother and stepfather, Kathleen & Raymond Boyd. His brother & sister-in-law Johnny and Katie Boyd. He also leaves behind his best friend and former spouse, mother of Zoe and Tara, and devoted caregiver, Susanna Smith. He was also the very proud uncle of Aubree & Quinn Boyd. Covy is preceded in death by his daughter Tara and his father Corbett.
Although Covy's time with us was cut short, the impact Covy had on the lives of others was overwhelming. His journey changed the lives of not only his family and friends, but his impact of his journey forever changed the lives of the nursing staff in Pennsylvania and every staff member and client he saw daily at Resilire Neuro. We take comfort in knowing that he lived life to the fullest and left a lasting impact on those he met along the way. Rest in peace, Covy. We will always cherish the memories we shared with you
