We are raising funds to help with medical bills, celebration of life, and funeral expenses after the death of Dan D. Lima.

Dr. Dan Dennis Lima was born on the 19th of February 1949 in Bermuda to Angelina Exell (nee Pedro). In his youth, he led an active life, enjoying a variety of activities such as playing soccer, cliff diving, and boating. He spoke often of his enjoyment and involvement in his Young Life youth group. While in Bermuda, he fell in love and married Debra Kneisler... his wife for the next 50 years... they were wed on the 18th of August 1973.

After moving to the US in 1975, Dan and Debby had three children over the course of the next 8 years. Dan found he had a love of learning, obtained his GED in order to pursue a college degree. His pursuit of college earned him seven degrees, finally ending with an eighth, his PhD in Psychology. He wore many hats throughout his life. First as husband, father, youth pastor, social worker, counselor, and eventually as grandfather and friend to all he met.

In 1996, he found a new passion for reenacting the French and Indian War and the War of 1812. Hand sewing all clothing after much in-depth research to create authentic reproductions. He made friends wherever he went and became Papa to the reenacting world. He still enjoyed watching soccer and rooting for his favorite team, Manchester United.
Dan passed away at 1:41 am Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at IU Health Hospital in Lafayette, IN surrounded by his family.
