Shiva for Ellen Tillotson and her Family

Family and friends,

Our mother, Ellen (Mrs. T), a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and teacher, passed away yesterday morning peacefully at home. Her children and her husband were by her side, cherishing every final moment.

In her final hours, we shared stories, memories, and accomplishments with her amazing nurses. Most importantly, with all of our love, we filled the room with song as dad played the guitar, and the three of us singing the songs that had filled our hearts and home for over 50 years. The only true fitting tribute to her memory and spirit.

Though we are far from the home and community we grew up with, we know all of you still love us from wherever our lives have taken us and many of you have asked how you can best support us in this time. I’ve set up this GoFundMe so that the family will not have to cook during Shiva, to help defray end of life arrangements for our beloved mother and to help to take care of our father during sheloshim as he transitions into a new phase of his life.
