Help Honor James Cruz's Legacy

Hello all,

With a very heavy heart, I am sharing the passing of my beloved father James Cruz.

At 69 years old, and after an unexpected diagnosis of colon cancer, James has ascended to heaven to be with his wife Maria, his parents Zaida and Jaime, and all of his cherished loved ones in heaven.

James was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Many know him from his career with the NYPD as a School Safety Agent at Joseph B. Cavallaro, I.S. 281 in South Brooklyn. He was known and loved by the community so much that everyone considered him the unofficial Mayor of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn :).

He touched the hearts of all who crossed paths with him. He loved to tell stories, make people laugh, and take care of others in any way that he could. If you knew my dad, you know exactly what I mean. I will miss him forever. He will always be my dad, my protector, and my best friend.

I am currently raising funds to cover the cost of his funeral service and burial. The Cruz family appreciates any kind of contribution.

Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time. It brings our family so much peace to know how loved my dad truly is. As we honor his memory, we remember him not only for his professional achievements but for the warmth and humor he brought with him everywhere he went. His legacy lives on in the stories we share, the lessons he imparted, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us physically, his spirit remains a guiding light for us all. We will remember “Cruz” forever.
