Help Honor James' Memory
Donation protected
We know that in today’s culture it has become nearly cliche to learn of a young man’s death, followed by his need for burial assistance. Which is oftentimes followed by an opinion on the matter, and nothing more. While there was nothing that could have prepared us for these next few lines. There was also the thought that we would have time to figure out our next steps.
But on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:32am we received the heart wrenching news that your battle to remain here with us was cut short as God called you home. James was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and needed to be placed on a donor list for a heart. However, his request was met by even more difficult news of a massive mass found on his lungs just a short time later; that would push his chances of survival through a donor out of reach. In just a matter of hours, the seven days we were given to share any last moments of laughter and joy came to an abrupt halt as James fought for each breath and every second of a heart beat, before taking his last breath.
James was a son, a brother, a loved one and a friend to many. His infectious laughter and “old man” spirit also brought a sense of calmness to the space. His love for freedom of expression, music and family made him significant. He was a gem to say the least among many. Most parents never imagine having to bury their children, they never imagine standing along the bedside watching as the doctors and nurses scramble to stabilize and intubate their son, falling into the gaze of last stirs and goodbyes for now.
We don’t have the words to capture all of who James was and what he meant to so many. But, we hope that you hear our thoughts, join in our prayers and support our efforts to raise funds to help to funeralize James. Because of his late knowledge of his health condition, he was unable to acquire life insurance. We are asking that you would give whatever you can in support of raising the funds for James. No amount is too small. No prayer goes unheard.
Thank you for all of your heart felt prayers, concern and support.
