Help Honor Jill "Ama" Saunders' Memory

My name is Kaja Ackerman and this is my mother Jill Saunders. Tragically, she suffered a massive stroke this week on the day of my daughter's 29th birthday. My daughter was on the way to our house to pick us up for dinner. Unfortunately, we never made it to that dinner. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend is currently maintained on life support and is not expected to make it.

We are raising funds to offset funeral and burial expenses during this sudden tragedy. We understand this is a difficult time for everyone, so any amount you can give is greatly appreciated but we understand if you are unable to do so at this time.

Jill spent her life as an avid Tar Heel basketball fan and enjoyed watching sports live and on television, never missing a game. As the lifeline and heartbeat of our family, often updating us all on the current news and weather updates she had learned throughout the day ensuring we were safe on our day-to-day travels or events. She enjoyed trying various cuisines and was always involved in the sports and activities of her granddaughter.

Jill "Ama" Saunders has been a blessing throughout our entire lives and she will be greatly missed. Her spirit will live on with us and we are truly blessed to have been graced with the time we have spent with her. We want to thank everyone who has shown us so much love and support, truly from the bottom of our hearts. It has been a great burden on us, but we know that the Lord will be with us and Ama forever.
