Help Honor Joannie Ballard-Cook's Memory
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Devyn Ayers, daughter-in-law to Joannie Ballard-Cook. We've never had to do anything like this. We feel the need to explain our situation as thoroughly as possible so that anyone who donates is fully aware of where their donation is going. Any donations are very appreciated and will help Joannie, an incredible mother, daughter, and sister receive the send-off and memorial service she deserves!
There's no good way to start this but essentially, Joannie passed away suddenly on what is believed to be Monday the 1st of July, 2024. She had no life insurance policy to be used for funeral expenses, nor money set aside for that, nor any assets or will in place. Her immediate family consists of her husband Jordan and sons Christian, Zeno, and Zane. They've all been struggling financially as is, as are many people right now. The funeral home, Memorial Funeral Directory, has received enough help from DHHR to cover a small percentage of the cremation fee. The memorial and remaining funeral home fees are expected to be completely out of pocket for the immediate family members to cover. It's also worth noting that with the DHHR helping, there is no option to pay for any memorial service provided by the funeral home, so things are at a bit of a standstill regarding the memorial service. Another thing to note is that part of the agreement we made with the funeral home director involves us needing to purchase jewelry from them as well.
However, her family is organizing a service to be held at a local nature preserve of sorts, or a similar to-be-determined location. The anticipated expenses so far are catering/grilling, rental/purchases of tables, chairs, canopies, and venue, send off expenses involving fireworks, balloons, etc. Where most of Joannie's family is scattered out of state, necessary traveling expenses are also to be covered. Things like flowers, a way to play music, and other small details are also to be covered. Joannie's sons plan to work as many hours as they can to help make her memorial come to fruition. Any help at all is very appreciated. If you do not feel comfortable donating to the family held memorial service, donating directly to the funeral home to help cover the cremation costs and jewelry costs is also very helpful. To anybody who's willing and able to help, we all appreciate it more than you could know. Please spread the word if you're unable to donate but wish to help in a big way! Joannie was a very special person to so many people, and no matter the donation total by the end of all of this, she will receive a service reflective of who she was as a person. That will be made possible in large part by all of the amazing people who've helped us throughout this terrible tragedy. Whether financially or just through love and support, thank you all!!!
