Help Honor Konnie's Memory and Care for Family

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Konnie Mejia. Konnie was taken from us way too soon and leaves behind a loving family who is left heartbroken.
We are raising money to cover the cost of the funeral and memorial services for Konnie's family as this passing was very painful and largely unexpected.
Konnie had received an abnormal pap smear earlier this year and recived a follow up test which was concluded to be of no concern. About a week later she was having major breathing problems and taken to the ER. They gave her antibiotics and was sent home. A week later, the breathing became near suffocaion and was rushed to a different hospital where she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer in June 2024. At this time the cancer had metastized to her lungs, brain, and spine. Konnie was in excrutiating pain and started on two types of chemotherapy as well as radiation. Unfortunately, none of them worked.
Konnie's mother, Maria served as her care giver as Konnie had lost mobility and needed someone to stay with her at all times. Due to this, Maria was unable to work. Konnie's father suffered job loss at this time as well. The Mejia family used all their savings to survive while trying to spend as much time caring for their daughter in her final months.
Konnie was struggling to breath in her final days and was given the difficult decision to make to be intubated and she agreed, knowing she would not survive. Konnie passed away surrounded by her parents, siblings, and her son on September 28, 2024.
Konnie was a girly girl who loved doing her nails and getting them done, but not just a simple color, she wanted the diamonds and all the extras! She loved makeup and found it to be a creative outlet. She hoped to go back to get her cosmetology license and open up her own buisness so that her son could live a comfortable life.
Konnie also loved crossoword puzzles and listening to music at HIGH volumes, without a care of who was around. Konnie loved her son, nephews, and dog Apollo more than anything. Spending time with family and creating memories together was one of her biggest passions in life.
Konnie was a single mom and leaves behind her 15 year old son, who is now left as an orphan. Konnie also leaves behind her parents, siblings, nephews, dog, and many, many others.
Any donation given to the Mejia family is greatly appreciated.
