It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, teacher & friend, Leonard Hayes. Leonard was a light in the lives of so many—kind, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His presence brought joy, laughter, and love to those around him, and his loss leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts.

As his family navigates this heartbreaking time, we want to come together to support them in covering funeral and transportation expenses to ensure Leonard receives the farewell he deserves.

The unexpected costs of laying a loved one to rest can be overwhelming, and we hope to ease this burden for Leonard’s family. Funds will directly support, but may not be limited to:

Reimbursing the Hayes family for travel and lodging costs to/from Oregon - Colorado
Covering expenses to settle Leonard's van: After Leonard's passing, 2 of his sisters attempted to drive it from Portland to Denver, but the transmission broke down in eastern Oregon during a dangerous snow storm. They've since had to navigate the challenging circumstances of renting a U-haul back to Portland, booking additional flights, arranging last-minute storage for Leonard's belongings and much more.
Covering funeral services, including cremation costs.
Travel expenses for the Hayes family to return to Oregon to spread his ashes across Leonard's favorite natural landscapes.
Planning and booking for a memorial event on the anniversary of Leonard's passing.
