Help Honor Linda Hawkins' Final Wishes
Donation protected
Ever since her husband passed away in 2017, Linda Hawkins has experienced one medical scare after the next. It always seemed as if she had nine lives, surviving one devastating diagnosis after the next, but she never let it get to her. She was the heart of our family - she lived for the simpler things in life, and never believed in worrying too much about her future. As long as the people she cared for in her life were happy, then she was happy.
Unfortunately, on November 23rd 2024 at 12:25pm, almost a week after her 76th birthday, Linda passed away from multi-stage organ failure. She had suffered a rapid decline, resulting in her being put on life support with no chance of recovery. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all she knew, and will be dearly missed. Life feels duller without her in it.
Her last wishes were to donate her body to science - unfortunately, due to the toll her illnesses took on her, that is not an option. She also wished to be cremated, like her husband, which we intend to honor. She did not have any life insurance, savings, or anything set aside in case of an emergency. The cheapest offer we have found is $1750, provided by the same funeral home our entire family has gone to. However, in our current financial situation, we cannot afford to cover the costs of the service, and now we need the funds to properly honor her.
We ask for help in this time to get her body cremated - we are not asking for help to cover a service, as she did not want one. Any money over the original amount will go towards unexpected fees and costs, and if no unexpected fees occur, will go towards covering the costs of a proper urn. We just want to give her the proper farewell she deserves.
We appreciate any amount you can contribute, and even if you cannot currently donate, we appreciate your thoughts, prayers, messages of support, and attempts to spread the word during this difficult time. If you have any photos of her to share, those would be appreciated as well. Thank you.
