On Behalf of Robert W. Hoffman Jr. by His Granddaughter Nichole Allen
Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Supporters,
With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Robert W. Hoffman Jr., a man of deep faith and beloved family member. His sudden health decline this past month left us heartbroken and faced with difficult decisions about honoring his wishes.
Sadly, due to miscommunication from his caretaker, we were misled to believe his end-of-life affairs were properly arranged. Robert had always expressed his wish to be buried beside his grandparents, with whom he shared a lifelong connection. However, his caretaker had plans that did not honor this, opting for a simpler, less respectful option. Thankfully, we intervened in time to secure his ashes and uphold his wishes for a dignified burial.
After seeking legal guidance, we discovered we cannot legally require the caretaker to contribute toward his burial costs, despite his caretaker’s previous assurance that funds were available. With limited resources and the burden of these unexpected expenses, we’re reaching out for support to help fulfill Robert’s final wishes.
In a beautiful twist of fate, a distant relative—whom we had never met—generously offered a burial plot next to Robert’s grandparents. This act of kindness is a true blessing, aligning perfectly with his wishes and offering us hope during this challenging time. We will forever be grateful for their selflessness.
We’re now seeking to raise $4,500 within a year to cover the remaining costs for the burial and a headstone. Any contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to honoring Robert's wishes. Your support means everything to us, and we pray that every generous gift is returned to you threefold.
With gratitude and faith,
Nichole Allen
