Help Honor Thomas DeLeon's Legacy

Hello everyone,

My name is Kim DeLeon. My story is about my funny, patient, incredible father.

It's with a heavy heart that I'm letting everyone know that Thomas DeLeon (aka: Tommy, Coach Tom, Blue, Grandpa, Pops, & Papa) has passed away on June 30th, 2024.

He was a patient and hard-working dad.

Always willing to help anyone out.

A wonderful coach and teacher to anyone who would listen to him about baseball.

My dad was my pillar of strength and has left too early to be in heaven.

As posted previously when asking for prayers when my dad underwent heart surgery, I thank you all. He made it through the heart surgery with no problem. Talking, eating, hugging, the evening after his surgery.

It was during recovery in the ICU that he had mini strokes to the left side of his brain that made my dad incapacitated (unable to speak, walk, sit, or take care of himself).

From then on, my dad would be transferred to skilled nursing homes that are understaffed to recover.

Between nursing homes and different hospitals, my dad would survive a brain bleed, brain infection, other infections, and the worst bedsore ever.

We were expecting to have my dad recover with my mom in his RV today, however my dad decided enough was enough and passed.

But from December until this past weekend, it's been a struggle emotionally and financially for all of us.

I am not known for asking for help but I'm asking now for any and all help with donations to lay my dad to rest.

I'm truly sorry and embarrassed but I need the help. My family needs the help.

The VA will cover his burial and military honors, however the mortuary and cremation costs are not covered

My father was my hero, my dad, my confidant, wonderful grandfather, and great baseball coach!
