It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Nana, Vera Smith. She was tragically taken from us after sustaining critical injuries from the bleacher collapse incident at the Kendall County Fair.

In the aftermath of this tragedy we are faced with unexpected funeral expenses. We want to honor Vera Smith in the way she deserved. She was a pillar of light in the community, a compassionate, gentle grandmother to all. She was an award winning baker and gave her heart and soul to serving her community and caring for her loved ones.

We are asking for any support, no matter the amount, to help cover funeral arrangements, memorial services, and other related expenses. Your generosity will provide us with the ability to give her a dignified farewell in the aftermath of this tragedy. Any funds raised over the goal amount will go into 529 education fund accounts for her great grandchildren.
