His friends were his world

It’s been over 2 years since our dear Victor’s death, at 19 years of age, that left a huge hole in all of our hearts. Victor’s friends, the families of Victor’s friends and the community at large cared deeply for Victor. The graveside service and committal were May 7, 2022 at Hope Cemetery, 201 Maple Ave., Barre, VT.

Victor was the youngest of five children. When Victor and his mom, Martha Avila, moved to Barre, Vermont, he was only nine months old. He attended Barre City Elementary & Middle School then Spaulding High School. Victor always enjoyed sports - soccer, lacrosse, and wrestling were his favorites and also where he excelled. Victor was charismatic, kind, caring, smart, always calm, very funny, and talented. Outside of school he loved his family, friends, and videogames! This was such an unexpected tragedy for the entire family and Victor's community. Victor was truly loved by all who knew him.

Our dear Victor was laid to rest on May 7, 2022, with a graveside service and committal at the Hope Cemetery, 201 Maple Ave., Barre, VT without a headstone.

We want to honor Victor with a headstone. This fall/winter a headstone and base were ordered from the Rock of Ages Memorial Studio, using funds raised from the families of Victor’s friends for the first half of the cost. The Stone will be completed soon. The next step is for the foundation to be poured this spring and the stone to be placed on the base. We are coming together to raise the remaining funds needed to cover the remaining cost that will be due when the stone has been placed.
