Help Hope with Medical Expenses

On April 27th, Hope worked a normal day of teaching, but started to experience some back pain during 4th period. That night, she woke up at 1:00 am with sharp pain and realized she was losing function in both arms. She went straight to the ER, and after a few hours, lost function in both legs as well. For several days, Hope underwent multiple tests and scans with no definite diagnosis. On May 1st, she received a diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis (inflammation of the spinal cord) after one more MRI.

Currently, Hope is in the rehabilitation center for intensive physical and occupational therapy at the hospital. She has responded well to medicine and therapies. She will continue to stay at the hospital until the end of May, after which she will continue outpatient physical therapy through the summer months. It could take up to three months for her to regain full function.

This fund is to help Hope cover her medical expenses. Any support is greatly appreciated. Hope is a beloved teacher and friend, and we want to help in any way we can!
