Help Hospitals in Adwa, Tigray and Save Lives!
Tax deductible
This is an emergency appeal for humanitarian aid and financial support for medical services for the residents and internally displaced people of Adwa and the surrounding areas in Tigray (Northern Ethiopia) where civil war has flared up since November 2020.
Adwa, a small town in Tigray, Ethiopia has become a temporary home to over 145,000 internally displaced peoples from Western Tigray. The city of Adwa has been under siege like the rest of other cities and villages in Tigray with no humanitarian aid reaching for several months for millions of people. There is no internet, banking, communication, food and basic essential services.
Your donation is critical to support the residents of Adwa and the internally displaced people to provide food aid and restore emergency health services. The Adwa Hospital and near-by health centers are providing very limited services as the Ethiopian and Eritrean National Defense Forces in violation of humanitarian and international laws have destroyed the infrastructure completely. For almost two years an estimated 420 medical staff are without any salary and budget. Due to the devastating war, there are serious shortages of medicine and basic food for patients. The residents, victims of sexual assault, and the wounded are unable to receive services. In addition, starvation is being used as a weapon of war on the innocent people of Tigray leaving millions in desperate circumstances.
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Your contribution will also help save innocent civilians' lives: mothers, malnourished children and babies, and the elderly.
