Help Hossam and His Family Survive the Cold in Refugee Camp

Donation protected
My name is Aaron Smith, and I am creating this campaign to support my friend Hossam and his family, who are facing unimaginable hardships as a result of the ongoing genocide in the strip. Hossam’s story is one of perseverance, but the challenges he and his family endure are immense.

Hossam’s Story:

Hossam is a father of five daughters and four sons, living with his wife and children—a family of 11—in a makeshift tent at the Good Land Camp in Mawasi Khan Yunis. Their home was completely destroyed, and the ongoing aggression in the area has made it impossible for them to return, even to salvage what little they might have left.

Before the genocide, Hossam worked tirelessly as a bricklayer to support his family. However, a severe spinal condition left him unable to continue working, forcing him to undergo surgery for damaged cartilage between his third and fourth vertebrae. Now, he endures not only the physical pain but the emotional burden of being unable to provide for his loved ones.

Their situation in the refugee camp is dire. With the winter chill settling in, the family huddles together in their fragile tent, struggling to stay warm and fed. The cold is relentless, the resources scarce, and the hope for a better future grows dimmer with each passing day.

A Plea for Help:

Hossam's family urgently needs your support to survive this harrowing winter and begin to rebuild their lives. Your contributions will provide essential relief, including:

Warm Clothing and Blankets: To protect Hossam’s family from the bitter cold in their uninsulated tent.

Food and Clean Water: To ensure the family can sustain themselves during this crisis.

Medical Support: For Hossam's ongoing recovery and the general health of his children.

Shelter Improvements: To reinforce their tent and offer some protection from the harsh elements.

In addition to the immense hardships Hossam faces, he has been battling severe health issues for nearly 15 years. He suffers from stomach bacteria, stomach ulcers, and esophageal reflux, conditions that require a specialized diet and consistent medical care. Tragically, his poverty and the overwhelming challenges of daily life have made it impossible for him to access the treatment or nutrition he desperately needs. This ongoing health struggle further compounds the difficulties he endures, making your support all the more critical for his survival and well-being.

In Hossam’s Own Words:

"My dear brother, I have five daughters and four sons. We live a very, very difficult life because of the war. We are displaced in Mawasi Khan Yunis, in the Good Land Camp. My house is completely destroyed, and I cannot return to it. We will remain in the camp until relief comes. God willing, it will be good. May God reward you well."

How You Can Help:

Your donations, no matter the size, can make a tangible difference for Hossam’s family. By supporting this campaign, you are providing hope and relief to a family that has endured unspeakable loss. Together, we can help Hossam and his loved ones survive this winter and begin to rebuild their lives.

Thank you for your compassion and support. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign widely. Every action counts, and together, we can bring warmth and hope to Hossam’s family during this incredibly challenging time.

God bless and thank you for standing in solidarity with those in need.
