Community Support for Recovering Hostage Survivor
Donation protected
At 4:14pm on October 8, Hailey (Halo) Bridge was taken hostage by a man after he fled from police into the Santa Fe Lofts building downtown.
She was alone in the home with the exception of her kitten Neptune when the armed stranger came in. He forced her to lift & move heavy furniture as barricades, experienced episodes that jeopardized their safety, inflicted minor bodily harm on her and left her with lasting horrific images. Despite the circumstances she prayed with him, helped him call his family and the LAPD to negotiate, and listened to him express his pains in his final hours. In the height of the incident the man held her up to the window with a gun pressed into her head as the neighborhood watched below in horror. At 8:36pm SWAT entered the unit, and he was shot inches from her face. More below.

She has been suffering from frequent flashbacks and panic attacks as time goes on. In prioritizing her recovery, she has lost her income and home. (Update: She was able to postpone her move out until Dec 31 thanks to this support)
We are calling on the community to financially support her through this time. Funds will be used to supplement lost income, secure long term therapy, cover lawyer fees, and ensure that she and Neptune land on their feet after everything they have experienced.
No donation is too small, and a share goes a long way.
“It’s surreal how quickly your reality can change. Thank you to everyone who has shared, donated, reached out, and sent loving energy. I am blessed to know how many people have my back.” - H
