Who We Are
Hi! We’re Hott Lettis. Our mission is to write and produce theatre that celebrates silliness, embraces the beauty of imperfection, and uplifts innate feminine creativity.

We’re currently in pre-production of our inaugural play, The Last Grain of Rice! And we need your help!

Our Goals
  • Cultivate a fun, safe, and supportive artistic community in the pursuit of organic, imperfect, and earnest creation
  • Create interesting comedic roles & creative opportunities for women, LGBTQ+, emerging, and re-emerging artists of all ages and disciplines
  • Explore, engage with, and satirize theater in a way only people who really love it can
  • Pay artists and help foster burgeoning careers
  • Produce theatre that welcomes new & diverse audiences

Our Play
The Last Grain of Rice follows Bill’s Rice, a restaurant that serves only white rice, when it runs out of rice.

When the opportunity arises to sell the space to a chain of tweenage girl’s accessories stores, everyone is forced to confront their dreams and relationships. This is especially true for Lenny, the new owner of Bill’s Rice who longs to reunite with his ex-wife, Margaret, and bring his family back together, despite his exciting new relationship with George, a devoted longtime employee.

Things are only complicated further when a vengeful reanimated ferret, Lil’ Pip, ropes Lenny and Margaret’s often-ignored daughter, Jaundicia, into his schemes.

Featuring a cast of nine passionate, gross, jazzy, chain-smoking characters, The Last Grain of Rice is one part family-drama satire, one part absurdist comedy, and one part earnest exploration of family, legacy, and how to let go of what’s not serving you anymore. Also, jelly bean jar competitions.

Our Production
The Last Grain of Rice will be performed at The Tank in Midtown Manhattan as part of their The Tank Presents program. Read more about our team below.

The Tank is generously providing us with free performance space, several hours of rehearsal space, along with other helpful administrative resources, like insurance and fiscal sponsorship.

That means every dollar of your donation goes directly to the incredible artists and the materials and labor required to bring this play to life. We have a cast of 9 amazing actors, as well as a wildly talented creative team and crew.
