Help Houdini Receive The Medical Services He Needs
Hello my name is Miguel Cardiel.
Over the course of a month I noticed that my lovely little boy, Houdini (3 yr old) slowly began to eat less, play less, and not act like his normal self.
On July 6, 2021, I took Houdini to a vet where they ran a blood test. They discovered that his red blood count was critically low, his white blood count was low, and he had developed a heart murmur.
On July 7, 2021, I rushed Houdini to the vet hospital. They notified me that because of his critical state, he needed a few days in the hospital, a blood transfusion and other test(ultrasound, x ray). They quoted me around 4 thousand dollars for this treatment and I paid on the spot out of pocket.
On July 8th, 2021, the Dr notified me that Houdini has a rare blood type and that he making little progress, but is not responding well to the transfusion (He develops fevers). The believe it may be Feline leukemia virus (FELV) and he requires other testing, continued hospitalization, and a possible Bone Marrow Aspirate. These additional testing and treatments will be on top of what I have already paid.
The total that the hospital is requiring is an estimate around $6000+ They require payment to move forward with any treatment.
I have exhausted all my other options. I have been denied by loan agencies and community financial pet service support. I am feeling desperate and asking for any help.
Thank you.
