Help house, feed and clothe the children in Kenya

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Sam and I have been volunteering with LOV Movement for a couple years now in Skid Row, feeding and clothing our unhoused friends. This past October 2020, I took a trip with LOV Movement to Kenya to assist in finalizing the new living and education center built by LOV to house and uplift the children of the Giotto Slum. Along the way I also participated in their weekly food and water drop off in the slum. LOV Movement is the only source of clean water for the community, living in makeshift homes in a government dump site. Due to the pandemic many organizations, which also assisted in the efforts to feed the community, seized their operations. For the period of time in which I was visiting, LOV movement was also the only resource for free food. Due to the circumstances, I experienced a community in desperate need of help. I was brought to tears in my first trip to the slum and after every introduction to other needy families along the way. I witnessed children with torn clothing and no shoes in cold rainy temperatures and mothers with babies on their backs, pleading for extra food rations. Fortunately, with the help of social media, friends and families, we were able to raise funds to bring the children shoes blankets and facilitate extra food drop offs. We were able to put shoes on every child we saw barefoot on our long drives up to the LOV Movement education center. We even had extra to help LOV Movement purchase windows for the school.

I will be taking a trip again this August to assist in the completion of the school and visit and provide assistance to the families who’s faces are engraved in my heart. I plead for your support in my mission to bring necessary resource to these families such as: supplemental foods (fruits and vegetables), baby products, clothing, shoes and of course LOVE. I would also like to support LOV Movement in purchasing furniture for the new school so we can move the children out of the dangerous slum as quickly as possible. I ask that anyone reading this please donate at least $5. I know post pandemic times are tough and not everyone can afford to make bigger donations but I hope everyone will at least give five. USD go a long way in Kenya. $5 will purchase two pairs of shoes or extra rations of food. It is a huge support!! Of course, any extra is greatly appreciated but my point is, please don’t exit out without donating because you think it won’t make a difference if it’s the “smallest amount” because it’s HUGE to me and the children.

I am beyond grateful to anyone who has read this far. Please know I come to you all from the humblest love in my heart. Thank you for your support!
