Help Hunter Heal: Fight Against Esophageal Adenocarcinoma
Spende geschützt
Hunter was diagnosed with esophageal adenocarcinoma on September 11, 2024. He has a 4.5 by 3 cm mass lying on the top of his stomach. The cancer appears to be localized. His first oncology appointment is scheduled for Monday, September 16th, and he will learn about his treatment options then.
Hunter is 24 years old and has been an ICU nurse for 2 years. He has always had a heart to serve and care for people. His faith is the center of his life, and he trusts God to care for him through this journey. Hunter has a whole army of family and friends who will be standing alongside him in prayer and trusting God to heal his body. Between being out of work and the associated medical costs, Hunter will also benefit from any financial assistance that anyone is able to give. Hunter and his family are so thankful for the support he has already been shown and appreciate continued prayers.
Hunter's words are below:
"I’d like to go ahead and update everyone. For the last few months I’ve dealt with trouble swallowing food and the feeling of food getting stuck at the bottom of my esophagus. Eventually my doctor scheduled me a scope and he found a 4.5 by 3cm mass lying on top of my stomach. My biopsy results came back as esophageal adenocarcinoma. The CT scan we took showed that the cancer appears localized but there is a 1cm lymph node around the area of the mass. I am officially in a race against the clock and in a fight for my life! I’m scheduled for my first oncology appointment on Monday where we will talk about treatment options. I am staying strong and if you know me I’m staying as optimistic as possible. I believe I serve a sovereign and capable God. He is with me now through this storm! I’d like to say thank you for all the prayers. I’m going to continue to pray and FIGHT I love you all❤️ I will keep everyone updated as we find out more."
My heart declares Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
