I have started this go fund me page to help support Brunky, Alisha and Huxley
Huxley is an 11 month old who has unfortunately been diagnosed with a Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour on his left lung. This is a very angry tumour and the diagnosis was very fast as he was a happy healthy baby 3 weeks ago.
Huxley has already started chemotherapy in order to try and shrink this tumour & will continue to have Chemotherapy until the tumour is small enough to be removed Surgically.
Prior to this happening Huxley was the happiest baby, full of life, smiles and laughter.
As of the moment Huxley is on BiPap machines to help breathe and is in the PICU unit at Westmead children’s hospital. He will stay in the hospital for at least 4 to 6 weeks this round where he will complete 2 rounds of chemotherapy.
We are unsure on how his small body will react and how the tumour is going to respond to Chemotherapy so his future treatment is unknown thus far.
The side effects of his Chemotherapy put him at more risk of being admitted to hospital throughout his recovery & throughout his treatment, and once home appointments will be very frequent to make sure he is coping ok.
Our main goal is to get Huxley better so he can come home and grow and learn and we never have to put him through this again.
Huxley is due to become a big brother in April and we hope and pray he is home and well to be apart of her life with us and we can watch him thrive being a big brother.
At the moment we are doing everything we can to support Huxley through this. However financial stresses including travel, Time off work to be at the hospital & cost of medication and treatment moving forwards are already impacting the family.
We want to ask everyone to keep Huxley and his family in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
