Help, I Can't Breathe! Life-Saving Surgery Needed for Three

Help, I can't breathe!
Huey, Dewey, and Louie, three adorable 8-week-old kittens, urgently need life-saving surgery. Without it, they face euthanasia due to a severe congenital chest malformation known as Pectus Excavatum (PE). This condition causes their chests to be sunken, leading to severe breathing difficulties that will only get worse as they grow. It restricts the development of their heart and lungs, causing significant cardiac and respiratory issues.
These little ones just want to run and play, but their fragile hearts and lungs prevent them from doing so. Even a slight exertion leaves them extremely short of breath. While surgery is the only solution, it must be postponed until they gain enough weight to safely undergo the procedure. If their respiratory distress worsens before their scheduled surgery on June 19, emergency intervention will be necessary.
The ideal time for surgery is between 8-12 weeks of age. Currently, each kitten weighs about 1 pound, and we are working tirelessly to help them gain the needed weight. Every moment counts—any sudden deterioration in their condition could lead to an urgent hospital visit, either for surgery or to alleviate their suffering.
Their journey is a race against time, balancing the need for immediate surgery with the requirement that they are strong enough to survive it. Their condition is exceptionally rare; the surgeon has never encountered three kittens from the same litter with this issue. Fortunately, surgery can correct this and give them a chance to breathe freely and thrive. However, the cost of these life-saving procedures and postoperative care is overwhelming for our small rescue.
We cannot do this alone. We need the support of our compassionate community. Your generous donations can make a life-changing difference for Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and gives these kittens a fighting chance at a long, happy, healthy life. Please consider donating and sharing their story. Together, we can ensure these precious lives are saved and that they can grow, play, and experience the love they deserve.
Once the bills are covered for Huey, Dewey, and Louie, any additional funds received will be allocated to support the future care of cats under the guardianship of Stray Cat Blues.
