Help Iana Return Home

Our ukulele friend, Iana, is unable to return home to Russia. 

Last December Iana moved to Germany to dedicate a  year to volunteer teaching, but COVID-19 caused a complete shut down of the school where she was working and left her isolated in Germany. 

Many of us hoped that life would go back to normal after a few weeks of the quarantine, but that did not happen. Iana was left isolated in Germany waiting for the school to reopen. After a few months of isolation and a panic attack, Iana decided it was time to return to Russia. The only problem was that Russia closed its borders. 2 of Iana's flights have been cancelled.

Any leftover funds will be used for Iana's father's medical expenses. 


Iana has been staying in hostels and with acquaintances, but money is running out. She was volunteering at the school and has exhausted her savings. Iana could get a rescue flight through the Russian embassy but flights are limited.

About three weeks ago I found out that my dad has cancer again and he needs a surgery which is also very expensive. And then my grandma had a stroke couple of days ago. This situation is really difficult for me and my family and never thought it’d come to this, but I have to admit I need help..
