Help IBEW Brother and wife who is recovering

Hi, my name is Kelley Bushong, I am fundraising to help pay or bills and care for my wife until she is well enough for me to go back to work.

At the end of last month I got a call no one wants to get when they are out of town for work, that your loved one needs to go to the hospital and it's bad. My wife is a type 1 diabetic and she was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Due to her diabetes she has developed cataracts and can't see very well so she didn't know what it was or how bad it was.

A few days later she couldn't eat so she couldn't take her insulin either. When she called I had to walk away from my job and drive back home from northern Virginia. I got home to a very sick wife and a very bad wound.

I took her to the hospital where she was admitted and prepped for surgery. She was/is septic, had the spider bite and a Staph infection on top of it. She was very sick and had to have a large part of muscle and tissue cut out that was necrotic. Her wound is in a place that she can't reach or see so I have to pack it with gauze and dress it every day. That being said I can't go back out of town to work and there's no work available here. I'm looking at a large stack of medical bills, the regular bills (that I had just caught most of up from covid), and multiple more doctors and God knows what else. She is in no means out of the woods and could still lose her leg.

I usually try to handle everything on my own and take care of my own. This is a situation I can't and we need help. I've burned through most of the money we had left and am looking at being out of work for at least another month.
