Help Ifé Recover!

My name is Remy Jacobs Nelson and I have known Ifé since we became good friends in Elementary School. She is not only very special to me, she is special to my whole family and is an official extended member of the Jacobs family. Ifé is a strong, hard-working mom of one year old, Ajé, and I started this Go Fund Me to help her with the insurmountable medical bills and expenses from unexpectedly being in the hospital for almost a month.

Unfortunately, Ifé went to the hospital last month with horrible stomach pain.

It turned out she needed to have her gallbladder removed. After the surgery, Ifé was still in an incredible amount of pain so they reran the tests and found a gallstone had escaped before her gallbladder was removed. Ifé went through another painful surgery to remove this gallstone but during the surgery, her pancreas was inflamed resulting in a very bad case of pancreatitis. This medical journey has been extremely physically painful but the more painful part was that Ifé’s daughter, Ajé, had to stay with Ifé’s sister in Colorado while Ifé was in the hospital for almost four weeks. Ifé is now home and Ajé is back with her but now starts the new journey of recovering!

Although insurance will cover the part of her hospital stay, tests and surgeries, they will not cover it all. The cost of that, on top of the cost of what she will need to provide childcare for Ajé while recovering from multiple surgeries, is quite straining. I am hoping to raise enough money to cover the cost of care she will need for herself and her daughter while recovering from these procedures.
