Hello, I'm Ikhlas Elaydi, a computer engineer from Gaza, reaching out for help from a city that has been a war zone for the last seven months.
Despite the devastation and despair left by the war, I am determined to survive and rebuild my beloved home someday. I am determined to continue my studies to have the most impact for my community.

Prior to the war I was working in my dream job as a Software Engineer at NVIDIA. I also worked as a part-time Teaching Assistant at the university. Sadly, I lost my job and depleted my savings since the conflict started. Additionally, my laptop's battery burned out due to using unsafe charging alternatives.

Despite these challenges, I have never stopped searching for opportunities to improve my future. I applied for a Master's degree and was over the moon to be accepted at the University of Regina in Canada for the Fall 2024 semester with full study tuition coverage.

Now all I have to do is escape Gaza and make it to Canada.
It is with a heavy heart that I ask for your support. Your contributions will help me replace my laptop and facilitate my journey to pursue my educational goals.
As you may know, leaving Gaza through the Rafah Crossing in Egypt is difficult and costs at least $5000 USD per person. The journey to Regina, Canada will cost approximately $2000, with an additional $6000 needed for initial settlement expenses there.
I never expected to have to make a campaign like this, but I am eternally grateful to you for considering to help me during this tough time.
