Help Illia support his family & others in Ukraine

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Illia.

Today I am writing on behalf of my family. Currently, they are located in Ukraine, in the city of Kharkiv. They're being oppressed by the Russian terror and the war started by a madman.

I rarely resort to asking others for help, but I am in a situation where I do not have any other choice.

My city is in ruins like many other cities in Ukraine. The people of our country do not come outside of their homes because it is dangerous for their life. It is something that I have never imagined and something that I've been having nightmares about for the past couple of days.

I write this with a heavy heart as my family shelters and hides. I worry about them every day. When I talk to them, they often ask me to postpone the conversation because they need to go to a bunker or basement near their home.

It's a massacre. A filthy bloody massacre of our people that never wanted this war. A war that brings tears and mourning to each side of the conflict. Like any war, there are no winners among ordinary people like us.

I have emotions that overwhelm me. I'm scared for my family. I'm devastated about our beautiful city. I'm sad for the people who lost their lives. I'm in rage at the dictatorship of Belarus and Russia.
I feel helpless.

That is why I come to this platform to ask all of you to support my family and help them recover.

To give a little background:
In 2014 my mom was brave enough to let me go to the United States. She did it for my own good, so I could grow and become successful and support her and others in need. It is due to her bravery I am safe now. To pay this debt to her, I want to raise money for her cause. For the cause of my family and to support them. I do not have deep pockets, and I live a fairly humble life and try to help others along my journey.

My mom works as a nail technician, her mother sells eggs at the local farmers' market, and my brother is way too young to be involved with work. As many of you understand, the nail industry will not be booming anytime soon. I believe major work will be related to restoring the city from ruins and by no means do I think that is going to be an easy job for my family.

Today(3/1/22), my mom wrote me a message saying she had 200 grivnas left in her bank account. That doesn't even equal $10 on the exchange. I haven't sent her all the money I had, and I am still planning on sending her more from my paychecks. It wasn't much, but it is all I can do now. If any of you could spare a Netflix subscription or even a cup of coffee for my family, I would greatly appreciate it. I will not dare to pocket any money for myself; my morals would cut my throat if I dared to do that.

My mom assured me that she would help others around her and people in need. We are not greedy people, and we dearly care about others around us. Others that lost something...

I announce my words into the internet world to reach out for help. Any help. A dollar, a dime, a job that will help me support them. I do not know what goal should be set for this fundraiser because the distraction is still happening today - right now. Many kind people reached out to me, many that I hadn't even thought of. I appreciate all of you.
