Help Immigrant Freelance Artists for Theatre
Donation protected
WE HAVE A NEW GOAL!
I am Cha See a freelance lighting designer based in Brooklyn, New York. I am leading a group of freelance immigrant designers (OPT and O1 Visas) impacted by COVID-19. We are not citizens but are legally allowed to work in the U.S.
There is a lack of resources for low-income immigrant freelance artists for theatre in NYC. It is a huge risk for us to receive Unemployment Benefits because of our working visa status. For more information please click this link
Most of our theatrical performances this year have been postponed and pushed to next year or simply cancelled and we are in deep trouble financially for the entire 2020.
If you donate, the money will be divided amongst immigrant designers/ artists such as: set, props designers, costume, wig and make up artists, lighting designers, sound designers and projection designers.
The goal is to help at least 35 designers/artists to receive $500 each.
This will help us pay our rent and buy our food.
Playbill feature
We will also be donating 10% to UBUNTU
The funds will be distributed to the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (https://www.ncobraonline.org/tag/hr40/ ) and used towards the empowerment of black people and communities.
