Help immigrants survive after ICE detention

Donation protected
Since the unprecedented Covid outbreak in ICE facilities caused by gross negligence, ICE has been forced to release many - but certainly not all - immigrants from Yuba County Jail and Mesa Verde ICE Processing Facility.

The sudden release has left hundreds of immigrants  in severe distress. Giovannie is one of them. Giovannie is a Jamaican immigrant who has lived in California for over a decade. He ran his own business as a music promoter until he was racially profiled by police, upending his life. ICE detained him in fall 2020 - in the middle of a raging pandemic - and tried to take away his green card.

While fighting his legal case Gio became a dorm leader at Golden State Annex detention center, but also faced retaliation. After he won his case, ICE detained him for 77 days  even after its own lawyers agreed he could not be deported, robbing him of his freedom and exposing him to Covid-outbreaks even longer.

Please help us support people like Giovannie, who have to pick up the pieces after detention destroyed their old lives. Your donation will go to the Yuba Mesa Verde Immigrant Support Fund , administered by Faithful Friends .
