Help Inara get the specialized care she needs.

Aloha friends and family! Our beautiful, vibrant 4 year old daughter Inara was recently diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease called PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with strep.) What this means is that an undetected strep infection has caused an autoimmune/inflammatory response in her body which has started attacking the basal ganglia in her brain causing neurological symptoms.

We feel very blessed because we have caught it early before her health and behavior have seriously deteriorated. Her case is currently considered “mild” but the longer it goes on without proper treatment, the worse her prognosis becomes (and the more serious her neurological symptoms may become.)

We also feel blessed that although there are no specialists in Hawaii, there are some in the United States. We have reached the end of her care with her local pediatrician and have decided to relocate our family to Georgia so that we can be close to an Integrative Medicine doctor who specializes in treating children with PANDAS.

Unfortunately, this doctor (as well as most PANDAS specialists) does not take insurance so we are on the hook for all fees including any appointments, in house lab work, testing, treatments, etc.

We (her family) are shouldering moving/relocation expenses but we need help with the cost of her medical care. Any money raised will be put in a savings account directly funding her medical bills.

It is very humbling asking for help in this way and we would be grateful for anyone’s support. Please hold Inara in your hearts as we uproot our life and begin this new chapter of health and healing.
