Exciting News!! 14 year old Indie (short for Indiphile), one of the girls from our Surfers Not Street Children program, has been selected to join the South Africa National Team at the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in El Salvador in May.
This is a dream come true for Indie as only a handful of elite surfers are chosen. We are now determined find the money for her to achieve her dream.

Legendary surfboard shaper Spider Murphy and Safari surfboards have committed to make her two surfboards for Worlds which is absolutely awesome.
Can you help us get Indie to El Salvador?
Indie is part of our Girls Surf Too program who have become the first crew of black female surfers in the region and have brought a new and welcome dynamic to Durban’s New Pier.
Over 5 years ago we started our Girls Surf Too program to address the needs of girls living in difficult circumstances in the Point district of Durban. It is based on our model of fusing surfing with mentorship and care.
Indie is a vivacious character who personifies stoke! We are so excited that Indie has been chosen as part of South Africa’s national team for the ISA World Junior Championships in El Salvador at the end of May. This is a huge moment for her and a huge moment of stoke and inspiration for all the groms in our programs!
Here is what we need to raise financially:
$4500 - this covers her overall trip costs (Surfing South Africa required).
$500 - to equip her with what she needs to go.
Any amounts raised over and above this will directly support our Girls Surf Too program to create more pioneers!
