Help independent bookstore, Green Door, stay open
Donation protected
Local used bookstore and community event space, Green Door Books in Hobart, Indiana, is looking for help to maintain business as the owners seek to transition into a nonprofit organization. With this transition, the store hopes to raise funds to support the rent, lawyer fees, and probable short-term closure of the store to establish the nonprofit.
Green Door Books opened its doors five years ago to serve the Region on Main Street in Hobart. In hopes of bringing literacy and community to Region residents, Green Door has supported local artists and authors over the years; created clubs for art, writing, and reading; and hosted many beloved events, such as holiday shows, local author signings, regular open mics, and many art openings.
Primarily selling $1 used books, Green Door Books has done its best to stay alive with the help of many friends and patrons. After an expensive relocation of the store and with the lasting effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the business, the Green Door family needs help to continue bringing the arts, literacy, and more to the community for many more years to come.
Please consider donating to a cherished store that brings great value to the Region. With your help, Green Door Books looks forward to keeping its doors open; continuing to offer its current events, clubs, and groups; and hopes to offer even more literary and art community opportunities for all to enjoy. Thank you, and any help is greatly appreciated.
