We are a group of passionate, low-income college graduates with a shared dream of creating a unique and compelling independent film. Despite our limited resources, we've pooled our talents, creativity, and determination to bring this vision to life. However, we need your help to turn our dream into reality.
We come from diverse backgrounds, but we are united by our love for storytelling and filmmaking. Our team includes aspiring directors, writers, producers, actors, and crew members who are all eager to learn and grow through this project.
Our Vision:
Our project, "Edge Of Discovery", is a Sci-Fi story that takes place in a post-apocalyptic 2060, Eve, a genetically engineered being unaware of her true nature, discovers her origins and a mysterious project linked to a rising epidemic after infiltrating GenSynth Inc. With Ray's help, she learns she is immune to the disease, making her a target for the company's sinister plans. The theme of hope is embodied in Eve and Ray's determination to expose GenSynth's dark intentions and lead a revolution against the corporation.
The theme of hope resonates with audiences as it mirrors the universal human experience of seeking purpose and overcoming adversity. Eve's journey from ignorance to enlightenment and her fight against powerful forces reflect the resilience and courage people aspire to in their own lives. Her determination to expose GenSynth's dark intentions and lead a revolution inspires viewers to believe in the possibility of change and a brighter future, even in the darkest times.
This project while acts as a short film, it acts as a pilot episode that is not just for us; it is a testament to our hard work, creativity, and the belief that anyone can achieve their dreams with enough dedication and support.
Logline:
In a post-apocalyptic 2060, Eve, unaware of her true origins, receives a mysterious ID chip on GenSynth—a company known for creating Life Synths—which embarks her on a journey of self-discovery that changes her view of the world forever.
Synopsis:
In a post-apocalyptic 2060, GenSynth Inc. has created Life Synths—genetically engineered beings indistinguishable from humans. Eve, unaware of her true nature, lives a simple life working at a retro-futuristic diner. Her world is turned upside down when Ray, a mysterious figure, hands her an ID chip, prompting her to infiltrate GenSynth Inc.
Within the company's hidden files, Eve uncovers secrets about her creation and a mysterious project tied to a rising epidemic. Confronting her superior, Naveen, triggers repressed memories of her origins. Ray reveals that Eve is immune to the disease, making her a target for GenSynth's sinister plans.
After a confrontation with Naveen, revelations are made apparent setting the stage by upping the stakes for Eve and Ray forcing them to lead a revolution against GenSynth.

As independent filmmakers, we are working with a very limited budget. While we have managed to secure some of the basic equipment and resources, there are still many essential elements we need funding for, including:
-Equipment Rental: High-quality cameras, lighting, and sound equipment to ensure our film looks and sounds professional.
-Locations and Permits: Securing the perfect locations and obtaining the necessary permits to shoot there.
-Film Insurances: Covering all necessary insurances required for filming
-Costumes and Props: Creating authentic and engaging visuals through well-designed costumes and props.
-Post-Production: Editing, sound design, and special effects to bring our story to life.
-Marketing and Distribution: Sharing our film with the world through festivals, screenings, and online platforms.

$1500 - A sneak peek to the VFX of the film.
Tier 3
$3000 - Associate Producer credit on the project (plus all of the above). You’ll be invited to a virtual premiere party when we launch the short.
$5000 - Co-Producer credit. You’ll be invited to our premiere in person (travel not included).
Tier 4
$10k + Co-Executive Producer credit on your own single card. Plus all of the above along with a tease on what is coming!

Christian Morales earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Christian is a driven and motivated filmmaker, dedicated to creating compelling visions and connecting with audiences. He is a collaborative team player, ready to face challenges and adapt to any situation. With a comprehensive skill set in filmmaking and a passion for storytelling, equipped to develop remarkable narratives and innovate new creative visions.
