Re: Construction of Hemodialysis Centers in Edo State, Nigeria
Dear Donor,
Please permit me to introduce Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW) to you.
ENAW was founded in 1992 as a non-profit organization under the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code 501c (3).
As an organization, ENAW serves as a platform for charitable and community-based activities to produce and implement long-term solutions to identified challenges in our communities here in the United States and Nigeria through collaborative efforts with other non-profit organizations, businesses, and Government entities.
We are contacting you today to share with you the medical challenge facing our community and to seek your assistance in mitigating the challenge. According to available data, Sixty percent (60%) of patients in Edo State with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) (Source-The Nigerian Observer) who need hemodialysis have either no access to dialysis or cannot afford the cost. This sad reality galvanized our organization to address the treatment center availability and affordability issue.
Toward this effort, we would need to build and maintain three (3) state-of-the-art dialysis centers across Edo State, Nigeria. Current projections and estimates put the needed financial commitment to the tune of $2,400,000 (2 million, four hundred thousand USD)... Your kind generosity will assist us in actualizing our goals.
As enumerated below, we have over the years demonstrated that we are a reputable and respected organization with an impeccable track record of using donated funds to support projects as designed and envisioned. Our non-profit philanthropic activities and aid projects over the past several years include but not limited to the following:
• Recurring yearly medical missions to Edo State.
• Completed a recreational park at Utekon and ongoing building of another one at Auchi.
• The donation and shipment of hundreds of table-top computers to Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Nigeria.
• The donation and shipment of container-loads of educational textbooks to libraries in Edo State.
• The donation of an American-standard full-size medical ambulance to the Edo State Government.
• Awarded educational scholarships and incentives to young and promising Edo and Nigerian students in our local communities here in the United States.
We are thus, soliciting your highly valuable support in the construction and operation of the above-mentioned dialysis centers.
We are immediately kicking of fundraising for $800,000 to achieve the first phase of this noble project.
