Help Inez get to the Official Strongman Games

Donation protected

My name is Inez and my goal is to become the World's Strongest Woman.

A little backstory. I started going to the gym in 2019 because I needed to lose weight after a fight with postpartum depression and a binge eating disorder. I was 320 pounds at my heaviest and I used the gym to learn how to cope with my depression and start to become healthy again. As I am a single mom, I also wanted to make sure I gave myself every opportunity to be around as long as possible for my son.

Through this experience, I was exposed to the sport of powerlifting and eventually strongman. I instantly fell in love with the sport, ended up losing 85 pounds, and decided to start competing. In December of 2020 I entered my first regional championship and won first place, which gave me a bid to the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival (aka The Arnold), one of the most prestigious pro/amateur events in the world of strongman.

Unfortunately, The Arnold was cancelled due to Covid. Undeterred, my coach and I decided to sign up for another pro/am event, held this past August 7th in Seattle, Washington. I won second place, losing to one of the current world champions by only three points. I beat all of the other pro strongwomen there, unheard of for someone new to the sport.

With this win, I secured my Official Strongman Games invite -- one of the biggest international competitions in the world for Strongman and basically the sport’s equivalent to the Olympics. The event takes place this November and I will be competing in the Open Women's division which goes for the title of World's Strongest Woman. After that, it’s back to The Arnold for the opportunity to secure my Pro card.

Which brings me to this page. I could really use some help with the Strongman Games expenses. My main costs are airline tickets for my son and I, an Airbnb, contest entry fees, and meals. Anything additional donated will go to my gym fees and prep for The Arnold next year.

It’s been a particularly rough year for me as I lost my grandma due to cancer. She was my biggest supporter and my mom, and I know I still have the chance to show her that I can become the World's Strongest Woman. For my son, I simply want to show him that his mom can overcome anything.

I also want to be someone that inspires people, especially women, to get in the gym and not be afraid to get strong. I was always told after my C-section I wouldn't be able to go to the gym and lift a lot of weight, but I have done things that no one has been able to do before. I've hit world records in the gym and I now have the opportunity to compete for those world records officially. Thank you so much in advance for your support.
