Help Injured Veteran Rebuild Her Life & See Her Kids Again
Donation protected
Rachel, a 100% Permanent and Total (P&T) disabled veteran, bravely relocated to Vermont for better VA care and access to a veteran support facility called Josh's House. Tragedy struck in her first week when her service dog was attacked by an off-leash dog belonging to a volunteer. Despite witnesses, Rachel was unceremoniously asked to not to return Josh's House.
This ordeal left Rachel with a double blow. The attack left her service dog unable to perform its crucial tasks, worsening her physical and mental health. With Josh's House no longer an option, Rachel finds herself without the support system she desperately needs.
Adding to the hardship, Rachel's roof leaks due to improper installation. This has led to black mold growth, creating a health hazard for Rachel and a heartbreaking situation – she can't afford repairs and is physically unable to fix it herself. Furthermore, the insurance refuses coverage due to the faulty installation.
To make matters worse, Rachel is owed a decade of disability back pay by the Army. This financial injustice leaves her unable to afford repairs or the additional disability aids she now needs. The impact is devastating. Rachel's young children, who live with their father, can't visit because of the mold.
We are reaching out to raise funds to help Rachel rebuild her life and reunite with her children:
Safe and Healthy Home: Funds will be used to fix the faulty roof, eliminate the mold problem, and create a safe and healthy living environment for Rachel. This will allow her children to visit again.
Expanded Disability Support: With her service dog no longer able to assist, Rachel needs additional disability aids to regain some level of independence.
Even a small donation can make a big difference in reuniting a mother with her children and giving Rachel a safe, healthy home. Please consider giving what you can to help this deserving veteran.
Please Share Rachel's Story: Sharing this campaign raises awareness and increases the chance of reaching our goal.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
