help injured worker activist Gregory Butler

Hi, my name is Gregory Butler and I am a longtime labor activist in New York City - I was recently injured in an accident at work. I have a broken bone in my left wrist, a dislocated bone in my left hand, two chipped teeth, cuts inside and outside of my lower lip and bruising on my face. Also my glasses were damaged in the accident - it will cost $200 to repair my glasses

I will be unable to work for at least a month, possibly longer, depending on how long it takes for my arm to heal (I'm a diabetic in my 50s, so it might take longer than normal for me to fully recover)

I have applied for workers compensation, but there will be at least a 4 to 6 week delay in my receiving my benefits

I need a little help to tide me over until my benefits start and to repair my eyeglasses
