Help inspire school kids in Miami, fund two murals for them!

The Madison Middle school in Miami is a school for children between the ages of 10-14, a super cool age to find the direction you want to take in life, and to discover your passions. Being in touch with art in their direct surroundings can help motivate these kids that want to go into the creative field, and it can inspire others on many levels.

The school can be found in a lower income area of Miami. In other areas of Miami you can find loads of high quality murals (Like for example in Wynwood), but not where they live. It would be a great boost for them to have amazing high quality murals just for them to be proud of, on their own school terrain.

Who are we and how can we make a difference for these kids?

We are Nina Valkhoff and Edoardo Trionfera, two muralists from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Nina paints flora and fauna, to make people all over the world more aware of the beauty that nature has to offer us, and to make them feel happy about where they live. Sometimes she paints local animals, sometimes endangered species, and any animal in between. She has been active for 22 years painting murals.

She has painted in 14 countries so far, but never in the US!

Edoardo is an Italian artist who decided to move to the Netherlands to follow his dream of making art. He is an illustrator and street artist who enjoys making his creations in large dimensions. His illustrations and paintings show people in everyday situations, in his own unique minimalist and happy style. His inspiration comes from people and the environment around him.

‘A Walls’ is organizing this amazing initiative, where both of us are invited to paint a large scale mural on the terrain of the Madison Middle school, to brighten up these kid’s surroundings, and the neighborhood, as the walls are visible from the street.

It is our dream to make this happen, especially in the first week of December, because that is when Art Basel happens in Miami, the biggest art fair of the world. The city will be bursting with street art initiatives like this one, art shows, networking parties, and much more. We’d love to be able to visit some exhibitions and events during this time as well, and meet lots of street art colleagues that for so long we’ve only known online.

What do we need the money for?

To cover the basic costs, we would need € 6800 euros.

This covers:

- Our return tickets

- The accommodation for 12 nights

- Local travel costs

- Material costs (paint etcetera)

- Machine lift rental

- 200 euros or more - A creative workshop in Edoardo's studio / gallery in Rotterdam, plus a shoutout on our Instagram accounts as a funder of this project (you can also stay anonymous)

- 500 euros or more – A 15 x 21 centimeter original drawing by either Edoardo or Nina, of a topic of your choice in our own unique style. We would love to make something special for you, thank you for being so generous!

- 2000 euros or more – An original painting either by Edoardo or Nina, on a 50 x 70 cm canvas, or a similar size of your choice. Thank you for being so generous!
