Help Isaac get to World Scout Jamboree 2023

Hi, my name is Isaac and I am 13 years old. I am a scout at 2nd Timperley scout group.

 

My Mum has set up this page to help me with fundraising so that I can attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in August 2023.

 

I originally set up a just giving page with a target of £4000 but we didnt realise that this expires after 4 months, so I have set up a new page with gofundme. From the just giving page, this page and other fundraising, I have managed to raise £2000 so my target is now £2000. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I really am very grateful for your generosity.

 

The money raised is to pay for my travel, food and accommodation but most importantly to help pay for scouts to travel to the Jamboree from the world’s poorest nations, who would not be able to attend otherwise.

 

The World Scout Jamboree only happens every 4 years so this is my only chance to attend as a young person. 

 

Before finding out about the Jamboree I was learning the Korean language on dualingo in my own time as I am fascinated by Korea and their way of life, so I was so excited when I heard about the Jamboree. I made the application and was invited to attend a selection day. There were only approximately 35 places available for the whole of Greater Manchester so when I heard that I was chosen to go to South Korea to represent Greater Manchester West I couldn't believe it and I felt so grateful and excited.

 

I am not very confident sometimes and I have lots of doubts, but I am so determined to travel to South Korea as I feel its a once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope that it will help me gain some self confidence.

 

My pledge is that myself and my family will be running, cycling and walking the distance from our home to South Korea- thats 5459 miles!
