Help Isabel Johnson Beat Leukemia!

Donation protected
On October 4, 2021, the Johnson family's lives changed. Just as their sweet daughter, Isabel, celebrated her sixth birthday, they received the news no parents want to hear. Isabel has been diagnosed with ALL leukemia and is currently in the hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments. This devastating news comes only four months after an intensive spine surgery for their son, Kole, who was diagnosed with a form of Spina Bifida in October of 2020. It has been a hard year for this family and the medical bills will continue to come in. Isabel has a long road of treatments ahead of her. Becky and Blake have made the decision to always have one parent at the hospital with her. As you can imagine, this will create a financial burden, as they have always been a two-income household. Any financial support you can provide this family as they try to navigate this new normal is appreciated.

A message from Blake and Becky Johnson:
"Have you ever felt like if you post something on social media it may make it more real or more permanent? That’s how I’ve felt this past week. I scroll on social media and I get so angry and upset for a million different reasons. Social media shows the good it’s not often we see the sad, bad, real and raw things about life. It’s not often people want to share the hard things they are going through and after this past week I understand more than anyone why. For me this post makes everything more real.
As some of you know over the past few weeks Isabel has been in and out of the hospital. Although her initial visit to the ER turned out to be low blood counts with a positive test for COVID. Things started going up after antibiotics and blood infusions and things started to look better. We continued to do blood work over the last few weeks and blood counts were inconsistent and dropping again. We followed up with her doctor and were told that we should do a bone marrow test to truly find out and rule out some factors.
On October 4th after the bone marrow test our worst fear shattered our entire world. The word no one ever wants to hear especially about your own kid, leukemia. Isabel was diagnosed with ALL leukemia. All the emotions have ran through our heads anger, sadness, fear. How can our beautiful baby girl be so sick?? Why her, why us? As a parent you raise you kids to be the best little humans possible, and if you’ve met her god damn she is.
We have started her chemotherapy treatments. We are absolutely broken and angry. I know she will be healthy in the end, but it will be a hard path to walk for the next two and half years, but we will be there for her every step of the way. She is strong, brave, and beautiful. Please send all the thoughts and prayers you can possibly send our way.
I’ve thought about keeping this all a secret, but to be honest this could have happened to anyone. This could of been your daughter or granddaughter because cancer doesn’t care how you look, how old you are or even how good of a person you are. This is our new life. Everything for Isabel has changed, she has had kindergarten taken away from her. She has had being a kid for the next 6 to 8 months ripped from her, and it makes me so fucking mad because she doesn’t deserve it. No child deserves this. I hate hearing I am so sorry, it’s not fair because it isn’t! Nothing can change this! I can’t take this away as much as I wish it was me and not her. She has to fight this but I know she will! She is the best little girl in the entire world and she deserves more than this! We will get her through this, we will fight with everything we have! I know we have the best support system behind us. Isabel Michelle Johnson you are so loved! We will get you through this we will come out of this stronger! We will make the most of the good days and mommy and daddy promise to help you on the tough days. This post isn’t for sympathy or for the I’m sorry this happened this post is for our friends and family to pray and show up for our little girl! To help fight with us against this cancer and come our on top! #FUCKCANCER"
