Help I'Sice Thomas Recover
Donation protected
On April 6th our teenage daughter was walking home from a friend's house. Her friend lives right around the corner from our home, less than five minutes away. When I'Sice arrived at the intersection the light was red giving her permission to cross the street. Before she could make it through the cross walk, a car drove straight through the red light hitting I'Sice before she could make it to the side walk directly across the street. Not only was she hit by this car, but the driver didn't even care enough to stop after hitting her. This person continued to drive away leaving my daughter laid out in the middle of the street barely breathing and unable to move. Fortunately an ambulance arrived a few minutes later and rushed I'Sice to the hospital in critical condition.
When I'Sice arrived at the hospital she had no identification on her. The hospital had no way of contacting us or determining who she was. When she did not come home that night, we reporting her missing. We even called the local hospitals, but no one was able to confirm her location or identity. We had no idea where she was, until someone on social media posted the car accident a few days later. We immediately rushed to the hospital and were able to prove to the staff that the unidentified teenager they had in the ICU was indeed our daughter. When we arrived to her room we fell to the floor after seeing our daughter unrecognizable and in so much pain. We are truly living a parents worse nightmare. No parent deserves to see their child go through something this awful.
Since the accident I'Sice has been in the ICU under 24 hour medical care. Not only has she undergone several brain surgeries in the past few weeks, but she's also suffered a stroke due to her injuries. She's been on a ventilator, feeding tube, and had to have a tracheotomy surgery. Her doctor's have shared that she will be under intensive medical care for many more months to come. They've also shared that I'Sice will need long term rehabilitation and therapy once she leaves the hospital. This accident has taken so much from her. She is a gifted student and very much into the creative arts. She loves to write, sing, and even dance. She just turned 18 last month and was scheduled to graduate this June after completing an internship. After graduation she had plans to go to college and build a life for herself.
Our family is raising money to assist with I'Sice's medical bills and ensure she will continue to receive the best medical care possible long term in hopes that one day she will be able to live a normal life again and continue to pursue her dreams. We appreciate all donations and if anyone has any information regarding the hit and run please contact Seregent Scott Prader at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Thank you all for your support and prayers during this time.
