Israa Mushtaha, a 33-year-old resident of Gaza. I write to you with a heavy heart, urgently seeking your support amidst the dire situation we live in Gaza.

The ongoing conflict has rendered our living conditions unimaginable and unsafe. Fleeing our home at the onset of the war, we have been displaced four times, enduring relentless bombardments and constant threats to our lives.Presently, my and my family are living in a tent in Rafah, where basic necessities such as water, electricity, and food are scarce, and essential human rights are nonexistent. The relentless bombing has left us in constant fear, with no safe haven in sight. Tragically, my brother Ahmed was recently diagnosed with hepatitis due to the lack of clean water and adequate nutrition. Additionally, we have suffered the loss of beloved family members, including our grandmother, due to the insufficient medical resources available in Gaza.

Compounding our distress is the deteriorating health of my father, who urgently requires eye surgery unavailable in Gaza. His condition worsens by the day, and his sight is now severely impaired.

I had 9 cats and if you know me u’ll know what they mean to me they’re like a member of the family I tried my best to help them survive this horrific war, but even animals couldn’t escape this genocide. I took them with me since day 1 everywhere, but unfortunately only three have left now. I lost six precious souls and even the ones left now are sick and I can’t afford them food.

To escape this harrowing situation and save my family, we seek to cross the egyptian borders. However, we are unable to do so without financial assistance. The required fee per person is $5,000, totaling $30,000 for our family of six. We’ll use the money to evacuate from Gaza , do my Dad’s surgery and some extra costs after traveling as we’re now left with nothing and there’s no income.

Today marks the 210th day of this devastating war, and our resilience has been tested beyond measure. We have lost not only our homes and livelihoods but also our sense of security and hope for the future.
